Book Buzz at Maine Street Bee
Come in out of the cold! Join us for the first of our occasional Saturday-afternoon book discussion group meetings.
A cozy winter’s day out for nature and bee lovers, new and experienced beekeepers, and anyone who loves a good story well told, Book Buzz meetings are free and open to all—and a fun field trip for local book clubs!—though we encourage you to purchase your advance copy of the book at Maine Street Bee to help support our events programming. We will have a limited number of signed books available for in-store or on-line purchase, and we’d love to see you!
**NEW DATE** Join us on February 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Our featured title this month is The Honey Bus: A Memoir of Loss, Courage, and a Girl Saved by Bees by Meredith May.
About the Book:
Meredith was five when her parents split and she suddenly found herself in the care of her grandfather, an eccentric Big Sur beekeeper who made honey in an old military bus in the yard. As they bonded over the art of beekeeping, Meredith discovered that everything she needed to know about life and family was right before her eyes, in the secret world of bees.
Part memoir, part beekeeping odyssey, this is a story about finding home in the most unusual of places, and how a tiny, little-understood insect could save a life.
